Valeryd Släparts (Trailer parts) started up in business in 1995. The owner Magnus Larsson and several of the staff had already long experience of manufacturing trailers. The new business concentrated on spare parts sales, and had its own servicing workshop, along with axle sales, manufacturing them under licence. There was great demand right from the start, and after a couple of years Magnus started to develop his idea.
The idea was simple but the vision was unique in this area. The thought was to be able to offer a complete spare parts system for trailers and caravans to distributors, who with this setup could be freed from holding stock and keeping track of purchases from various suppliers. The Merak store display was developed.
By the autumn of 2000 most of the system was ready and selling in could begin. The first Merak stand was supplied to Bildelen (Autoexperten) in Vara, in 2001. At the Elmia "Autoteknik" trade fair the complete store display was unveiled for the first time, in January 2002. There was a tremendously positive reception and immediately new ideas began to take shape.
Valeryd’s in-house developed software “Valeryd Easy Search” began to be supplied to distributors in the autumn of 2003. This software facilitated searching for spare parts, which could now be done in a fraction of a second, for the distributors. This of course left much more time for sales.
The new generation of “Valeryd Easy Search 2.0” was delivered in January 2004. The software now permits searching for more than 600 000 trailers, with the aid of registration numbers. In February 2004 this function was also released on to Valeryds Släparts’ new web site.
There are today many different store stands covering the national Swedish and Norwegian markets. The Easy Search system is now available to all on the Internet so that distributors and end customers can find the correct spare parts.
