VALERYD X-Tech brake shoes are developed using a unique technology where the friction lining is pressed into the brake shoe under very high pressure and temperature. The lining penetrates X-shaped grooves in the steel, creating a very strong mechanical bond between the friction lining and the brake shoe. This construction provides high wear resistance, stable braking performance and long service life even under heavy load.
Thanks to the X-Tech technology, VALERYD offers a lifetime warranty against the brake lining separating from the brake shoe. The warranty does not cover normal wear of the friction lining.
Brake shoes in drum brake on trailer
When the brake is activated the brake shoes are pressed against the inside of the brake drum in the trailer drum brake. The friction between the brake lining and the brake drum creates braking force which reduces the wheel's rotation. During service the brake shoes and springs should be inspected regularly and worn components replaced to ensure the brake system functions correctly.
