VALERYD X-Tech is a manufacturing method where the brake lining is heat and pressure-set into X-shaped grooves in the steel. No adhesive is used. Mechanical anchoring provides high wear resistance and stable braking force, even during repeated hard braking.
Mechanical anchoring without adhesive allows VALERYD to offer a lifetime guarantee against the brake lining separating. The guarantee does not apply to normal wear of the lining.
Brake shoes in drum brake on braked ALKO axle
Check the brake shoes at every service and after driving under high load. Signs of wear are reduced braking force, squeaking noises and visibly thinner lining. Check spring tension when replacing. Tired springs affect brake quality even with new lining. Always replace in pairs and clean the brake drum when replacing for even wear of the new shoes.
