Take your wheel brakes apart, in other words take off the brake drum and check the amount of wear on the brake linings. For best braking power, change all the brake shoes and springs. Clean and grease all moving parts (preferably with copper brake paste). Also check that the brake cable is free to move easily, and lubricate it with ordinary lubricating oil. If the brake cable is broken or visibly damaged, change it.
To maintain good braking action remember to regularly dismantle, clean and lubricate the brakes. You will find detailed instructions on how to change the brake linings in the menu “Questions – Changing brake shoes.”
