The split pin is inserted through the hole in the axle spindle and the recess in the castle nut, after which the ends are bent apart so that it cannot slide out. The mechanical locking prevents the castle nut from threading itself loose due to vibrations and loads. Fits wheel brake dimensions 160x35, 200x30, 200x50, 203x40 and 250x40.
